Oct. 1st, 2007 04:02 pmToday, I discovered that dragon pearl tea can be purchased from Thai Kee for the possibly exhorbitant sum of AUD 35 for 400 g. I was tempted at the time, but settled instead on a tin of tian hu shan (天湖山) jasmine green tea.
If you haven't seen dragon pearl tea before, it's definitely worth a try. The tea comes rolled up in a tiny ball which you place in the water - not too hot! - and then watch as it slowly uncoils and rolls like, well, like a dragon. As long as the water wasn't boiling, and you didn't skimp on the uncoiling and unrolling time, the end result will be smooth and fragrant.
As for the tea, I did buy, Hsiu Lin and I made a pot today and it was wonderfully scented. I planning to drink this at work, in order to get my coffee consumption back to the point where I can actually smell the stuff again. I'm sure my heart will thank me for it.
