Jul. 6th, 2007 07:57 pmTonight was shearing night for Mr Liem. He wriggled about as much as your average Merino, but we got a good yield this time. The price for kid mohair was up around $26/kg at the last sales, so we should get a bit of money out of it. At $16/kg, where it was six months ago, it would have been tempting to keep the fibre for a nice cashmere scarf for Mummy, but of course we're still in the hole in terms of the cost of the gene-splicing in the first place.
Still, if the price says high for a couple more years, we should be making a nice little profit by the fourth shearing.
