Back to the bear

khiemtranI've had a new idea for how to handle the Bear story. It's been bothering me that I can't seem to make this story work. Part of the problem, I think, is that it works as a simple story, but I can't bring myself to write it as such. The shape in my head is for a more larger, more complex story, but the one plot I have isn't big enough to fill it.
The new idea is to use a lot more characters and viewpoints to illuminate the central plot. Hopefully this will make the whole thing detailed enough to interest me without making the inner story itself too complicated.
In other news, Liem had bear failure again the other night. He woke us up around midnight with an urgent call of "Bear!" and I found him sitting up in his cot reaching forlorning for his tiny white sleeping bear, which was lying face up on the floor. This has been happening about once a week lately. We might need to find him a bear with fewer tendencies to wander off on duty.
