In an imaginary class-bound society (yes, I know, they are all different, choose whatever one you like), a mid-to-upper class family is facing a catastrophic fall due to economic circumstances.

Which do they fear most?

A) Humiliation and exclusion from the peers they have now

B) Humiliation and exclusion from the peers they will soon have

I'd go with B, the fear they'd be shunned by their to be peers who might look upon them with disdain for their once loftier position.
