Saving my darlings... Update 2

Ok, things are starting to fit. I've got a version of the opening that nearly works with all the reprieved darlings back in there. And a few more besides. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a Very Bad Sign. I hoping it's not going to go back to rubbish as soon as I've rested it awhile.
