A Cunning Plan...
May. 19th, 2007 07:38 pmI've had two very long weeks in a row at work, featuring both early morning conference calls and late nights updating documentation. Did I mention that I love my job? I do.
The FA cup final starts at around midnight Sydney time. Under other circumstances I might have stayed up to watch it, but tonight I'm wrecked and I really need some rest. So, the plan is to time shift everything so I can watch it tomorrow morning. I can record the whole thing on my pc, but I won't be able to sit and watch it in the study once little Liem gets up. My setup is sophisticated enough to have video piped around the house, so I'll have to burn a dvd to play in the lounge. Knowing the transcoding will take awhile, I'll burn a data dvd and put the video files straight on it. Knowing that my $39 dvd player will refuse to recognize files larger than 2048 bytes, I've set the file limit on the recorder to 2000 bytes. Knowing that hearing the result will make the whole thing pointless, I've turned off my clock radio alarm, closed all the web browser on the PC and told my Entire Household of my plans and the importance of not turning on the radio in the morning. My Entire Household replied with "Why would *I* turn on the radio? YOU are the one who always turns on the radio!" I suspect my Entire Household is being remarkably patient.
Now, to find out what tomorrow brings...
