A flat translation

The makers of the Chinese-market Beethoven cd I'm listening to apparently used "Es" and "As" in the German style, as abbreviations for E flat and A flat respectively. Unfortunately, they carried it on a bit too far and the cd label notes that Sonata No. 26 is known as "lEflat Adieux" and the label at the bottom reads "Ludwig Van Beethoven 25/26/27/29 The Piano Sonataflat"

... and my brain spins while I try to figure out how that could happen. There must be at least two translations involved?

Well, the track descriptions were written in German and the sonata titles were in English (and the rest of the text was all in Simplified Chinese). My guess is the titles originally used the German notation (As-dur, Es-dur etc), and someone decided to convert them to the English equivalents, but trusted the job either to a literal-minded machine or a literal-minded minion.
