Another great day in the 'Gong...
Aug. 15th, 2006 06:36 pmWent for a walk to the beach after lunch today. The sun was out and the sea looked blue. Still a little cold for swimming but there were at least two people in the water. In some ways, this is the best weather we get - warm, but not too hot.
It's amazing the difference a little sun makes. A month ago, I was reflecting on how bleak and uninviting Wollongong had become. Today, it all looked clean and bright and there was the smell of optimism in the air - new cafés opening, tourists walking along the waterfront, people smiling in the street.
It rained as the sun set, and winter returned, but it didn't matter. The bright days will soon be here again.
