It's Monday, have a shark...
Jan. 2nd, 2017 07:17 pmWalking from Taronga Zoo to Mosman Bay today, we spotted this Port Jackson shark by the seawall in Mosman Bay.

It was actually quite tiny - only 30-40 cm long. We were very lucky to be able to spot the tip of the tail fin as it moved through the water. I actually thought it was a stick at first, until I realised it was moving. They seem to have more fins than a Swiss Army knife has blades. You can just catch a glimpse of some of them in the top photo. Since Sydney Harbour is actually Port Jackson, this was a very appropriate place to spot them.
I really like the monochrome patterns in this last photo. It looks a bit like its swimming in liquid mercury.

Heading home, the light on the Opera House was just amazing. We also saw what looked like a baby fur seal on the steps, but it was gone by the time we swung by after lunch.
