Come with me this time to Bondi Beach, where we going to see the Festival of the Winds. It's a big event and we may have to park a long way away. You can see the kites here in the distance as we walk closer.

As we get closer, it's a different story...

Lots of kites of all shapes and sizes.

From the enormous...

To the tiny... These chains of tiny kites were amazing. They seemed to vanish up into the sky.

And after we've done with kites, let's have a turmeric latte. This is Bondi, after all...

A festival named "Festival of Winds" promises to be magical, and clearly it **is** magical. Kites ♥

And turmeric latte! How is that? I feel like it's something I might actually be able to attempt at home....

It's the trendy thing at the moment. HL said it tasted like a coconut curry. I didn't have any as I'd already had three coffees that day (not that there's any caffeine in a turmeric latte).

There's no caffeine? So there's no coffee? Does turmeric take the place of coffee, then?

Yes, it's basically a turmeric-flavoured drink. It's the trendy thing at the moment because curcumin is supposed to have anti-inflammatory properties, http://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/diet-and-fitness/make-mine-a-dirty-golden-therise-of-the-turmeric-latte-20160614-gpivbo.html

I think it's great for people to enthusiastically embrace new things, but I shake my head when they do it for super health benefits. It's food (or drink), not medicine. It's not going to give you a miracle cure (... probably... what do I really know?) And we all remain mortal, so....

Still, that sounds cool--I'm going to check some online recipes and see how hard it is to make.

(though, if it tastes like curry, not sure I'd want to make it: I prefer curry as something I *chew* than as something I drink.... or if I drink it, I'd like it to be thick, like a soup... though I guess a latte could be that?)

If you google tumeric latte there are a few recipes, but there seems to be a lot of variation...

I saw the word "kites", and expected casually-snapped photos of birds of prey from you! :o)

There was one large raptor shaped one that had us wondering if it was in fact a kite...
