The Eels of Para Creek

From a distance, they look like random lines on the creek bed, but up close they are quite striking...

They move with a very sinuous, hypnotic action.

These little fish didn't seem too concerned. Maybe the eels only take one a day. Say, anyone seen Jeff lately?

The little fish have a feeding frenzy of their own...

I think these are little mullet, but it's difficult to say until they get bigger.

I like eels! I like them to look at when they're alive and to eat when they're atop an unagi donburi.
