It's still nominally winter here, but we've been having very nice weather up until Sunday. Today looks like the start of another "east coast low" - a winter weather pattern where a big low pressure system forms over the Tasman sea, bringing lots of wind and rain. They've already declared another El Nino cycle now, so we're expecting a hot, dry summer and it's good to get whatever rain we can.
This reminds me of an ice cream booth at the knife fair I went to with J this summer. It was raining and a bit chilly, despite being the second week of August, and the booth had no customers. It was artisanal ice cream, and I wanted to taste some. It took the vendors a while to serve me--even though I was the lone buyer--because they didn't seem to believe that I actually wanted to buy anything. :P
Was it good? The last time I tried to buy an ice cream, it was at the Vivid festival in Sydney and the queues were so long I couldn't get close to the counter. No queues yesterday though...
