Okay, writing was done last night
Mar. 24th, 2006 09:51 amI seem to be getting blocked on little things at the moment. It might just be that I'm still tired, or it might be that I'm doing something differently. The normal flow just isn't there at the moment. It feels a bit like being tongue-tied - I've got a vague idea of what I want to say, but when I try to form up the words into sentences, nothing works.
I've noticed also that I need to watch for certain obstacles that I tend to steer around without acknowledging. I spent about half an hour last night getting tangled up trying to describe a particular point in the mountains from a certain viewpoint. It was only later that I realized that I seemed to be almost deliberately avoiding the use of placenames in the passage. Placenames in that particular setting are problematical, and coming up with new ones is *work*. But, by dancing around the issue, I was taking on a whole new set of restrictions that I wasn't consciously aware of. I've got a feeling there's still something else I'm missing here. Writing this section shouldn't be this hard.
