A strong southerly today meant excellent hunting south of the office carpark...



There was just one kestrel today. Sometimes it snacked in the air...





Sometimes it looked for somewhere more stable to dine...

Taking a bit of a breather before the next hunt.

These are beautiful photos. You somehow manage to be as with him as you would be if you, too, had wings.

In the photo where he's first perched on the light, he looks like he's cleaning his teeth.

I like how the tips of his wing tip up in the first photo.

Thank you! I'm very happy with that first one - it was actually flying towards a pole that I was standing under, so that's why it's such a clear frontal shot. Once it landed on the pole though, it decided I was too close and it moved to the nearby lamp post.

Thanks! I was very lucky - in the head-on shots, the kestrel was actually flying to a pole right near where I was standing. Then it decided I was too close and moved to a lamp post nearby, where I got the other shots.
