There's actually a pair of birds near my office. This one looks like a female, but the other could either be a female or a juvenile male. It's going to be interesting if they stick around long enough for their plumage to change.
Nankeen kestrels are gorgeous birds up close. (They're also quite small - the smallest Australian raptor in fact, so you need to be close to see any detail). They're especially beautiful when they hover. I used to watch them hunting when I was growing up.
