Life and death at La Perouse
Apr. 5th, 2015 07:11 pmIn an interesting parable about self-absorption, we were at La Perouse today and, as we walked past Barrack Tower (a small, rather unimpressive watchtower), we noticed it was surrounded by people taking selfies with different poses and devices. Meanwhile, just a little way above them, and completely unobserved, a local top predator was about to tuck into a meal...

Date: 2015-04-05 12:42 pm (UTC)Once when I was riding through the woods we came upon a group of teenagers who were so utterly absorbed with their smartphones that they completely failed to notice a horse and rider in hi-viz gear, until we were right by them and Charm snorted. Boy, did they jump.
