Morning at Cronulla
Nov. 1st, 2014 01:11 pmI set off on my morning run at 5:30 this morning and still only managed to catch the tail end of the sunrise at Cronulla.

As I ran along the coast, I saw this swimmer and an escorting kayak heading upriver through Port Hacking. I'm not sure if the kayaker was the swimmer's coach, or simply a friend along for support, but there were a few big power boats around and it was probably a good idea to have an escort.

At the mouth of the Hacking River lies Salmon Haul Bay. I wonder if these people caught any salmon? (The fish known as Australian Salmon is quite different from the salmon in other parts of the world and supposedly only mediocre eating. Far more prized in these waters are the bream and flathead and the famous Sydney kingfish.)
