Hsiu Lin and I have taken the day off, and we've driven up to Canberra to see the annual Floriade flower festival...

It was a three hour drive to get to Canberra, but we took lots of breaks, including this one to contemplate Lake George. Yes, that is a lake. There were sheep grazing on it.

"Haven't we just been to a flower festival?" asks Liem. But his interest picks up, once he learns that the flowers form patterns that can only be seen from above.

Yes, it was very cool. You could really only make sense of it from the air though.

Yes, I'm pretty sure one is supposed to be a tartan pattern and another one is a houndstooth. In the top right, you can also see a bed with three giant teddy bears (two purple, one yellow). It was fun trying to figure that one out from the ground.
