It's Saturday, and we've driven to the Southern Highlands town of Bowral for their annual tulip festival...

The tulip displays are in the Corbett gardens, where a band is playing in the rotunda.

Although the park is quite small, there are plenty of different displays to see.

And, back at home, doing some gardening of his own on Minecraft...

Oh, wow! That is spectacular!

And just what I needed to cheer me up - some colour, thanks! It's been wall-to-wall grey cloud here these last few days...

It really has been great weather this weekend. It was so nice yesterday, we went out for a paddle on the Woronora after we got back.

I have no tulip, so I offer a poppy

Tulips have always been one of my favorite flowers, so simple and elegant. I just wish they had a nice smell. :P

And 3D Minecraft; I didn't know! Oh, wait, I used to play minesweeper. Perhaps it is different. I was so addicted to that game when I was at uni that I blearily told someone, "Oh, I was in the minesweeper room," instead of "the office." :P

If you haven't seen Minecraft yet, it's a great game, especially for kids. It can be a survival/adventure game, but you can also use it build whatever you want - sort of like virtual lego - including giant buildings and elaborate machines.

His Minecraft flowers are the same bright shade as the tulips in that first tulip shot.

No matter how well I know it intellectually, it amazes me each time it's called to my attention that as we go into fall colors, you go into spring ones, and as we bundle up, you're preparing for warmer days.

Spring isn't really that noticeable around here, as our winters are already quite mild and you tend to see flowers all year round, but there have been some definite changes these last few days as the weather has got just a few degrees warmer and there's a new smell in the air.
