Sea trial for Shearwater
Sep. 7th, 2014 07:46 pm
For the last four weeks, Liem and I have been helping to give a Mirror dinghy its annual overhaul.
This included lots of sanding...

Painting...

And copious amounts of epoxy resin...

Today, our newly adopted boat "Shearwater" was finally ready for her sea trials.

It's a nice calm morning on Sydney harbour, so out we go in search of a breath of wind.

The repairs all seemed to be sound, although we did take in a bit of water through the autobailer (it turns out I left it open when it should have been closed). Here's Liem doing some bailing...

After a quick spin around Rose Bay, Shearwater passes with flying colours...
