Sunday morning at Cronulla and the light has a touch of magic to it...

DSCN1971

There are banks of rain clouds just waiting to roll across Sydney. But for now, they frame the sun in a spectacular scene.

DSCN1990

As the sun breaks through, it gives the sea a burnished tinge.

And as it rises higher still, it catches the sea mist in the air...

One could be forgiven for thinking, from your blog posts, that you live a charmed life. I have to remind myself that in between outings you've got the same everyday humdrum life as the rest of us...

Yes, there's a lot of boring and stressful stuff that I don't post about (which is one of the reasons I didn't manage to put these up until now). But I do try to make time for the good stuff.

I love how the colors are reflected in the water in that first photo, and the changes in the sky as the sun rises are marvelous.

Yes, the colours in the water in that first photo are wonderful. I passed lots of people on the shore also trying to take pictures of it.

Fabulous photos!

Definitely worth getting out of bed on a Sunday morning for that light!

Thank you! It was a bit of a lottery that morning, because the forecast was for rain most of the day, but luckily the clouds were still out to sea when the sun rose.

I'm glad you like them! I went for a run today on my lunch break (along a different beach) and the surf was absolute huge. There were breaking waves as high as a small lighthouse.

Yes, I love the light in that first one. The sun, the clouds and the sea all seemed to be aligned together to produce that effect.
