Rubbish collection on the Woronora

We were just returning to the Forbes Creek boat ramp after a paddle on the Woronora, when we noticed a line of rubbish trucks and a strip of carpet laid out on the ramp. I asked if the carpet was for us, and of course the garbos[1] insisted it was, but it turns out they were actually just waiting for locals to bring their rubbish to them, by boat.

And here I thought garbos would be Greta Garbo inpersonators.

Why the carpet, though?

Trust me, they may have been garbos, but they were no Garbos... I think the carpet may have just been to make the ramp less slippery, although they may also have used to drag large items up the slope.
