Bundeena is a small township surrounded by the Royal National Park on the southern side of the Hacking River, periodically terrorized by twenty metre high giant ocean children.

Normally, we'll visit by car, but today we're taking friends on the ferry from Cronulla.

This ferry is actually the Curranulla, which has been sailing for over seventy years. We sat inside on the way over, but didn't realise that the windows could be pulled down.

On the way across Port Hacking, we saw all sorts of watercraft.

Not to mention some expensive waterfront properties...

After a short trip, we pulled into sight of Horderns Beach at Bundeena...

Disembarking at the jetty...

Almost straightaway, the kids wanted to hit the beach...

Self-portrait with waterproof camera...

After a morning of wading, splashing and shell-searching, followed by lunch in the Manna cafe and a sit in the park, it was time to head back. This time, Liem and his cousins sat out at the bow.

Nearly back at Cronulla...

And just after we landed, one final surprise - the southerly change hit with thirty knot winds. It struck with an audible whomp and you can see how much the sea has changed from the last photo. Very glad it didn't come half an hour earlier.

All up, a great day out!
