Hove-to, waiting for the jetskis....
Dec. 2nd, 2013 08:28 pmSunday afternoon lessons and there's a jetski race in progress between us[1] and the sailing club. Here we are hove-to, waiting for a gap between the heats.

At last the race is over and we set off across the course on a broad reach ("the fastest point of sail"). Of course, as soon as we start, the wind dies and leaves us puttering along at about one knot right in the middle of the raceway. At least they can't start while we're out there, but I'm sure some of the racers were scratching their heads at our ancient mode of transport...
[1] This time I have a crew! Although I need to work on my communication - I'm not used to having to talk about what I'm doing while in the boat...
