Wet weekend in Sydney...

It's a typical winter weekend in Sydney, so of course there are going to be plenty of opportunities to get wet...
Some like Stand-Up Paddleboarding...

Some prefer to paddle sitting down...

Some pedal with their feet.

Some even prefer power boats.

Just don't go too fast, or the water police will catch you...

Some, of course, just like to swim.

For the last two weekends though, I've been doing something different - dinghy sailing lessons with the Sydney Sailing School on Botany Bay. This week, we end up doing capsize drill.

Here's my instructor, Chris, after we've righted the boat, struggled aboard, and made it back to shore.

And here's me, suitably soaked. You'll note I'm still wearing my hat. I forgot to take it off before the drill and managed to get back into the boat without even getting it wet. It took a lot more effort than I expected though. (Getting back into the boat, that is, not keeping my hat dry...)

Here's what it looks like when I'm actually in the boat (and not lying on my back after losing my balance attempting to tack). No photos of all the other amazing things we saw on Botany Bay - including a hovercraft and a vast pack of jetskis; I was too busy watching the sails to be fiddling with a camera.

And after the sailing? Fishing with Liem, of course!

So glad to see Liem continues to enjoy the fishing. And you with your hat still on--it seems to imply extreme propriety--even when capsized, retaining the hat!
