Paktorology...
Feb. 19th, 2006 08:28 amHsiu Lin and I had a day off from Liem yesterday, so we got to go on a "pak tor" or date. As usual, this consisted mainly of looking at other people's babies and wondering what it was we used to before we had Liem.
After lunch at Epoque, we stopped at a cafe in Chatswood for a ice coffee and some people watching, prior to (baby) shopping (no-one was interested in a trade-in). Again, there were plenty of adorable children around. There was also a girl serving behind the counter, who had an absolutely gorgeous Eastern European accent.
It was quite strange to think, actually, that all this girl had to do was open her mouth and she could make people like her. Just like any of the beautiful babies and our own little Liem. (And also strange to think that her "accent" was only a product of her being somewhere different from where she was raised, maybe her voice was quite ordinary in her own tongue).
