By the sea...

Last weekend, we also went to Cronulla beach, for a walk along the seaside.


Here's the path I run along every weekend. I'm starting to recognize the other regulars now.



One of the ocean pools. For some reason, this one seems to be letting the water drain out when the tide goes out.



Surfers in action. I've seen it when the waves looked at least 2 metres high, maybe more. When that happens, everyone crowds along the clifftops to watch the surfers below.



Lots of apartment buildings line the shore. It wouldn't be a bad place to retire, as long as you could walk along the sea every dusk and dawn (which is sort of what my parents do, except on another beach, faraway, without all the buildings around).

The surfing photo is *fabulous*.

In another lifetime, I will try surfing.

The surface of the ocean in that first photo, it's like scales on a fish.

Nice path for a weekend run. Do those tide pools harbor little fishes, anemones and other "sealife?"

Yes, plus the occasional venomous octopus (this is Australia, after all).
