How can you tell when your skin lacks energy?

The back of my can of shaving gel reads "FOR MEN who have tired, stressed skin that lacks energy."

So, I guess I can safely say my skin is tired, since it's active even when I sleep. It's certainly stressed in parts, especially after a large meal. But how does one know if one's skin lacks energy?

- Feel like coming over this afternoon?
- I'd love to, but I can't. I woke up this morning and my skin was just lacking in energy.

LOL. From the subject line, I thought you were going somewhere different with this post. Mostly my brain went somewhere different as I remembered the time I did indeed use the wrong product: I put my husband's shaving cream* on my toothbrush, not realizing my error until I got a very funky taste and texture in my mouth.

* This mistake was made possible by the fact that Julien bought some "organic, environmentally-friendly shaving gel that is sold in tubes that are, yes, you guessed it, very similar in size and shape to some tubes of toothpaste.

:) Actually, I've nearly done the same thing. I've got a tube of shaving gel that I use when travelling that looks like a mini-tube of toothpaste. I've got as far as putting it on my toothbrush before realising it wasn't the same texture and colour.

Mind you, the gel in the photo above sounds so wonderful, I'm surprised they don't recommend spreading it on toast...

Well, is it pert and peppy, sitting there on your muscles, or is it slouching, just falling about like a person leaning on a shopping cart at the supermarket? If so, you definitely need Revitalizing Shaving Gel Q10, and if it gets really bad, you'll need Q11.

Right now, I think that if I wasn't there, it could barely stand up by itself. So, maybe I'd better write in an ask about Q11.
