Blueberry picking...
Jan. 13th, 2013 02:40 pmSo, you'd like to go blueberry picking at Tuckerberry Hill?

First, pay attention to the instructions! Entry is free, but the price is that every child gets a bucket - and it's $18 a kilo when they fill it.

Remember to tickle the berries into the bucket.

And only take the blue ones.

The rows you can pick from are marked with orange flags.

A bucket two-thirds filled is about a kilo. It doesn't take long to gather.

But watch out for mosquitoes!

When, you're done, take your buckets to be weighed (luckily, pickers are not also weighed on entering and leaving).

The man in the tent deftly empties each bucket into a net bag.

Enough berries to last for hours...

And tickling them--what a great instruction! I love it. More fruit should be tickled.
