Looking for something to do? Why not play table tennis at Darling Harbour?




The tables are actually made of some form of concrete. But they still seem pretty smooth. You can lie on the grass too...



Or take the kids to the water play area.



This section is really cool. There are all sort of sluice gates and locks and pumps amongst the network of channels and the kids can operate them all. It gets really crowded on a hot day though.

The kids also love the main playground.



Or you could simply stop and admire the jacarandas.

They're really firing around here at the moment - and it's exam time at uni. There is a saying at Sydney uni, apparently, that if you haven't started studying by the time the jacarandas bloom - you're doomed!

I think those table tennis tables are such an excellent idea! My husband was just suggesting we take it up as a fun family way of getting a little exercise (there's a place at the nearby university that has tables up for people to use, associated with a café, so: perfect!)

And jacarandas are so beautiful. And to think, I didn't know what they looked like until a couple of years ago.
