Pâtissier Inamura Shozo
May. 31st, 2012 08:06 pmStill in Yanaka...
One does not simply walk into the shop of Pâtissier Inamura Shozo.

First, you'll need to queue up. But don't worry, the reward will be worth it.

A man in a nice uniform will open the door for you, and make sure the queue remains neat and orderly. I even saw him dash out to turn a customer's bicycle so it was would facing the road when they left the shop.

When you've made your purchase, the staff will wrap it, carry it out for you and present it at the door with a bow.

Once you're inside the door, there will be delicious lemonade to sample while you wait. If, by chance, you're stuck outside minding the pram, perhaps a thoughtful boy will bring some out to you.

The cakes, at last!

It looks almost too good to eat.

I did say "almost"...
