I spent about an hour this morning trying to figure out what to do with Masamee's battle scene in The Silver Bowl. As it stood, there were some things that just didn't seem plausible, and everytime I tried changing one element, everything else started changing too. If I gave Masamee a "proper" composite bow, as those in her new family would use, then the reactions of the Charipan soldiers would all change. If she had a bow in this scene, then why didn't she take the bow with her to the city. If the Yu are mounted archers, then the Charipans need a way to counter them or they would never have lasted three wars. In the end, I gave up and went to have a shower. Everything will have to change, I thought. The key problem is that, as it stands, I just don't believe it.

About two seconds before I got under the shower, a thought struck me. The _whole point_ of Masamee's battle scene is that it's unbelievable. It's about supernatural intervention and the awe of the observer. It's _meant_ to be implausible. The thing is, I need to concentrate the implausibility back where it started, back with Masamee and her unlikely weapon.

Hmm.I think I'm on to something important here. Maybe implausibility is a colour too. Just another element that I an use when painting characters and stories.

Or maybe I just need to write naked.
