The Wooden Steps...
Jan. 13th, 2012 01:00 pmSo, yesterday, we tried to find the Deer and Kancil Park at KL.
We actually tried to find it on Wednesday too, but couldn't work out where it is. On Thursday, we tried again, and with the aid of a Policeman, finally found a gate which led to it. Unfortunately, the gate turned out to be locked (and remained locked all day, despite an advertised opening time of 10 am).
So, we went to the Orchid and Hibiscus Gardens instead, where the staff told us we could still get to the Deer Park by following "the wooden steps". But where were the wooden steps? Fortunately we had Ah Gong with us, who asked just about everyone we came across and, after a few wrong turns, we were finally directed to what appeared to be a piece of wood lying beside the kerb.

And, on the other side...

The wooden steps! These were actually made from old railway sleepers.
Right, then. Found the steps. Which way do we go?

Left felt about right, so we followed it along and came across a hunting platform.

And got hunted ourselves. I hope this is my blood.

Eventually the steps ran out and we found ourselves in a Botanic Garden. Once again Ah Gong asked a gardener and found the next direction to head.

The garden was cool and pleasant on a hot day (every day is a hot day in KL). Just make sure you don't berkelakuan sumbang!

At last, success!

And, inside, the deer (and also kancils)...

Date: 2012-01-13 09:55 am (UTC)The sign intrigues me. I can work out everything but the "No spraying aerosols"... Ah, the light dawns! No graffiti? But what is the one that seems to say "No small wooden huts on wheels"?
