No, I haven't been stuck for two weeks on the Apple Isle (not that that would have been a bad thing), it's just that I've had only patchy internet access since I got back...


Tasmania, as expected, was great. Lots of good food, including the long-awaited scallop pies and fresh salmon. I did miss out on a tap-drawn Cascade, but sampled some excellent Moo Brew Hefeweizen instead (and brought some back with me, since for once I was flying domestic).

In Tassie, scallops are cheap enough that you find them in pies.

You also find them in fish and chips (at least at Fish Frenzy) and even thrown in with this excellent pork belly (henceforth known as Death To Diets).

A friend posted beautiful pictures of the mossy forests of Tasmania--did you get to those, at all?

Not on this trip, although we've seen some of them before - on our honeymoon, in fact. There are some amazing ecosystems over there.
