So, it was no surprise that it was raining when I got in to Seattle...


A local friend told me they had only had about three days of sun this year. Everyone was getting twitchy, he said (and not just because of all the coffee...)


The next day though...


And we were lucky enough to have sun for the rest of the week...

It's amazing what a difference a bit of sunshine makes. Though I do love that top photo with the curve of the viaduct/bridge and the smoke/mist/low cloud.

Yes, it's a shame the lines aren't quite vertical though. That seems to be a problem with a lot of the pics I brought back from Seattle. There was one street with quite an impressive optical illusion where some of the buildings all seemed to be leaning (either that, or I was...)

Ditto the others - great contrast in that first pic of the greenery against the grey cityscape. Glad you had a good time and good weather.

I did have a good time. Seattle struck me as the US city that most felt like "home" to me. Which figures I guess, because previously I've noted that Vancouver was the Canadian city that felt closest to Australia.

Yes, I think I lucked out in that it was sunny for four whole days in a row...
