So... Any tips on what to do in Seattle?

This trip could go either of two ways. In one reality, I win the Qantas lottery and get the points upgrade I've applied for. In this reality, I get a good nap over the Pacific, get into LA relatively human and have enough mental resources left to tackle the existential horror that is an International-domestic changeover in LAX.

In the other reality, well, let's say just it will just like every other horror flight I've had going via LAX, with the added thrill of missing my next flight if I get delayed anywhere by more than an hour. And you just know that security is going to moving really quickly after the events of the last two weeks, right?

At least this time I haven't needed to spend any time learning the language. Maybe I'll be brushing up on Hindi or Korean on the flight instead.

Go take a mooch around Pike Place Market while you're in Seattle.

If you have a day to spare you can take the clipper ferry to Canada - well Victoria, Vancouver Island, anyway, which has a whole different feel to Seattle and is well worth a look. The ferry journey through Puget Sound is all part of the fun.

Thanks! Yes, Pike Place Market is on my to-do list. And maybe a mocha latte at the first Starbucks store for old times sake.

The Puget Sound ferry ride sounds great, but I'm not likely to have the time on this trip.

(Boarding in just under an hour. Looks like I didn't get the upgrade. Ah well...)
