This week I got a two page letter from a major credit card company, offering me the chance to sign up for their latest card and carefully listing all the benefits and freebies I would get. To their credit, they did at least put the annual membership fee in a clearly visible place on the first page, and I presumed the interest rate would be tucked away somewhere amidst the mass of fine print about each of the benefits.
Except it wasn't. I went through the entire document and there was not one mention of the interest rate or related conditions at all. I'm fairly confident it isn't a scam, based on the prominent nature of the company in question, but still... Would anyone seriously sign up for a credit card without being told what the even the starting interest rate was?
