My cabin came with a list of instructions, including a note that the shower was vented via the stove hood. Fair enough, since the bathroom backed on to the kitchen, and there was no point supplying fans when one would do. All I had to turn is turn it on before I have a shower, right?
Um...
Something like twenty minutes later, I still hadn't found an 'on' switch. I had searched every inch of the kitchenette and the rest of the cabin, even inside the cupboards and switch box. How hard can it be to turn on a stove hood?
Finally, I found a set of manuals at the bottom of one of the drawers, and there, amidst multi-lingual instructions for every appliance in the cabin, I found the secret. To turn the hood on, you just grasp it and pull it towards you. This might be blindingly obvious to everyone else, but I don't think I would have guessed at all by myself.
So, now I know...
