Think I'm all packed now. Just came back from a swim. Walking to the pool, on a nice sunny morning, I was reminded of how much I like living here. There might be a stark shortage of good restaurants and shops, and it's godawful hard to find a Norwegian dictionary, but it's a nice, pleasant place, where the streets are clean and quiet and the people are generally friendly. It's actually quite interesting just how quiet is in during the week, when most people are generally at work.
The pool is very pleasant too. There's almost always plenty of space for everybody and a really nice splash pool to keep the kids out of the way of everyone else. Normally, I swim without goggles, but I read about small goggles causing glaucoma (because of the pressure on the eyes) and I started wondering if no goggles would be even worse. I tried out a new pair today and I was shocked to see how much sand was at the bottom of the pool. Without goggles, I've never been able to see clearly enough to notice it before!
