A million words...

Jeffrey Archer wrote a million words during a year in prison [*].

I wonder how many writers would sign up for my new uh... writing retreat. Guaranteed no distractions, adequate food and water as determined by Amnesty International, regular exercise at least once every two days and the definite chance of early release if you produce sufficient word count.

Incidentally, do you find you tend to rewrite the same words by accident? I find if I'm not careful, I can reproduce whole paragraphs without even realising it. Even if I think I've forgotten the original, certain words and phrases just to jump out and seem "right"...

I can just see the ending when 60 pale and twitchy writers all get released at the same time, only to find that no-one's buying prison novels right now...
