We're having an early Chinese New Year lunch at our place today, and the guest list has grown to over twenty. Yesterday, HL and I between us made: two different chicken curries; one chilli chicken dish; two pork dishes; two vegetable dishes; one mushroom dish; and one cheesecake. All that is now sitting in an ominously bulging fridge.

Soon we got Liem's swimming lesson (and I hope I might get a few laps myself), then it will be T-2 hours, with laksa bee hun, rice and banana muffins still to go; plus a little matter of rounding up twenty chairs.

(And thanks for reminding me of Chinese New Year, I looked it up and marked it on my calendar now. Next step, find out where the celebrations are happening here...)

Well, we survived. No major disasters and we somehow managed to find space for everyone. I can see a lot of chicken curry in our future over the next week. Then next weekend it's the reunion dinner for the actual New Year, but luckily not at our place.
