khiemtranNot for the searing hot day, which included a rare chance to ride an unairconditioned museum piece of a train carriage in 36 degree heat(at least I thought they were museum pieces, but unless they just let one out on day release, they are still at large on Melbourne's tracks). Not for the awesome electrical storm that spread out across the sea as we watched from the balcony with champagne in hand, as a line of frantic beachgoers filed back from the beach, and a smaller, somewhat misguided group headed rather foolishly the other way. Not for the wild rain that followed and that special feeling of magical protection that comes from watching driving rain safe behind a wall of glass...
But for the night that followed, where, thanks to the rain, we didn't have to put out with drunk kids screaming to their friends at one am on their way back from a party.
