khiemtranFriday was my last day at work for two weeks, and I just sent off my last update for the non-fiction project this afternoon. Tomorrow, I'm off on a 700 km roadtrip with Liem to visit my parents.
This is going to be the first time Liem has been in the car for more than two hours, so it will be quite an adventure. On the plus side, we have no fixed schedule, so we can take as long as we need to get there. Hopefully, we'll have at least have crossed the NSW-Victoria border by tomorrow night...
To mitigate things, I've also bought a cheap seatback dvd player - Liem doesn't suspect a thing yet. It's a funny age we live in when kids get their own entertainment system on a roadtrip - the best we ever got was the radio and passing gum trees.
