A year without coffee
Nov. 15th, 2008 08:10 amWell, the year has come and gone, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that I didn't find myself compelled to rush out for a coffee the first day afterwards. It does help that my exercise routine has been going well lately and that takes away some of the cravings. It also helps that I'm stressed enough at the moment with work that I have no desire at all for any extra stimulants. The year was not without cost though. It did mean not sipping a coffee on the Champs-Élysées, not drinking tea with dim sum, and missing out on a tea ceremony in Osaka. Hopefully, there'll be second chances for all of those.
Now that I've proven that zero cups a week is sustainable, the next challenge is to find what other rates are also sustainable. From past experience, one or two a day tends to end up at four a day every single time. On the other hand, maybe I have more control over it now.
