Earth Hour
Mar. 30th, 2008 08:18 amWe spent a relaxing Earth Hour last night with the lights off, the candles lit, and our neighbours around for a bottle of Clare Valley cab sav.
Actually, spending a quiet evening in a darkened room is one of my secret pleasures, although normally I'd have some music on as well. It's not something I have a lot of time for anymore these days, but I treasure it when I can.
Conversation is also more interesting. There's a feeling of being in a special place where the conversation is all that exists. I can see the appeal of candlelight dinners now, and some of those gloomy North American restaurants that I usually avoid. For a short while anyway. They can keep those dark winters.
