I've been doing a lot of real storytelling lately, to Mr Liem. It's quite gratifying when he tells me not to read but to only talk instead, but it's also been interesting for me to get back to the basics. It's quite liberating to not have to worry about plagiarism or plausibility or any limits to wish-fulfilment. All there is instead is simply what works and what doesn't, what gets asked for again and again, what gets mutated until it does get asked for, what successful strands can be spliced together into something better.

It's also been fun being able to go from story idea to audience feedback within two minutes instead of twelve months...

Yes, but are you sneaking away to write them down afterwards, so you can publish a best-selling collections of children's stories? *g*

Well, I can see why any new parent would think they could... :) It's nice having a soft audience for a change.
