The next problem to solve for 2008 is how to fit regular exercise into my day. After trying and failing to do this last year, this is starting to become a medical necessity.
It does seem clear now that after work is out. That leaves during the day and early in the morning. I tried the early in the morning approach three times last year and fell sick immediately afterwards three times in a row. On the other hand, maybe that was just due to the "you'll be sick for two years" effect of having a baby and then a child in day care.
The first thing I've been doing is to cut out some of my "wind down" time at night and going to bed earlier. This has let me gradually shift my normal wakeup time back around 5:30, so hopefully this will make it easier to get some exercise time. I will probably need to get up around 5 am to get as much time as I really want, which will probably mean going to bed by 8:30 if possible.
