A woman holding an animated conversation with an Automatic Teller Machine. What was unusual was that the ATM machine was talking back. It had a fairly casual Australian accent and its voice sounded a little muffled, almost, you might say, as though it was coming from somewhere inside the building. The woman standing outside had a shirt on with the bank's colours on it, so it's possible that the machine knew her quite well.

Yeah, that would explain the casual Australian accent. Talking machines around here always speak with an extremely posh accent, occasionally British.
