Hmm. It's happened again...

I think I've just grasped something important about when to summarize scenes and when to describe them in detail. Or at least, nearly grasped it - I still can't put it into words exactly. What I've noticed is that if I reverse the summarizing and description for two problem chapters, then a whole lot of problems disappear.

I've got a whole new sense now of when I should do one and when I should do the other - something I didn't realize before that I lacked. On the downside - yes, this means more rewriting, including the just rewritten draft of Chapter Two.
