Words, wonderful words...
Aug. 23rd, 2005 11:26 amWell, cheap and trashy words, mostly, but at least it's progress...
Writing after Liem's bath and writing tired seems to be working. I've managed just over 2000 words in the last two nights. Hopefully, I'll be able to keep this up. On the downside, it's getting very hard to get up in the morning.
I've been working on two things in parallel - the Silver Bowl revision and a new story, as yet unamed. This helps to keep the momentum going during the two hours I've given myself, because whenever I get stuck on one, I can just switch to the other.
The new story is very rough indeed - it's something like the sort I would have written in high school - lots of explosions and violence and airplanes(!). It's set in a city under siege and everytime I get stuck I can just throw in a plane flying past or another explosion. The good thing is that I can spit it out almost without thinking, and at least feel like I'm accomplishing something. I'm not sure it will be good enough for publication, but at least it will be good practice. And it's great for building up momentum for tackling The Silver Bowl.
